Wouldn't you know! To my surprise, I was on television! Now before I get ahead of myself, let me tell you how the ball of yarn started.
Way back when, Yorrick and I hiked to the top of Mt. Kearsarge. I wrote about it back in November, Skating on Top of the World. Fast forward a little bit, there is a website that you can go to for your local ABC affiliate, whatever that might be. A link on the main page of this affiliate will bring you to what is called Ulocal. This is a community of sorts where you can load pictures and videos of almost whatever you want. Of late, the news channel had been asking people to upload pictures of life in New Hampshire during the winter. I started adding photos as they also show a Ulocal picture during each news cast, morning day and night. I hadn't seen my picture ever during any of these news casts since posting 3 of my pictures. But work came of a special show on this channel, called NH Chronicle, hosting a slide show of pictures uploaded to this Ulocal community, of life in New Hampshire in the winter. I was now excited and looking forward to this special show and wondered if my picture or pictures would be shown for all to see.
Tuesday evening came and Yorrick and I sat in front of the television patiently. NH Chronicle started and the slide show began. One than two, three pictures four. The pictures scrolled by and then there Yorrick and I were. Skating on top of Mt. Kearsarge. Was I seeing things? Was my picture really on television? Shortly after my picture left the screen, the phone rang. It was a friend of mine down the street asking if I had seen my picture on the television. It was official. My picture was noticed. I suddenly felt famous. I got 15 seconds of fame. Now as the show carried along, those that were watching the show found out that a special book will be made with pictures from Ulocal, with pictures of New Hampshire in the winter time. Will I get more than 15 seconds of fame. I have to wait and find out if my picture will make it in the book. I'll let you know if it does.
