Yorick and I went out today for a hike up Mt. Kearsarge. This is our first mountain we ever climbed. I had heard that there was a pretty awesome view from the top and there was. But it did take us some time to get up there. Yous see, Yorick was doing so well hiking up the mountain with me, but decided that he wanted a ride on my back. Yes, a piggy bag ride! I really didn't mind at all. Hiking a mountain was a bit much for him, but I couldn't risk leaving him home after what happened last year. Once we got to the top, we couldn't help but notice that everyone was right. It was an awesome site for sure. You could see for miles. They say on a clear day, you can see the skyscrapers in Boston Massachusetts. That's 80 miles away! We couldn't see them on this day, but we could still see for miles. Snow capped mountains up north and not some many mountains in the south. While on the mountain, there was a letterbox we found, but silly me, forgot our stamp in the car. I can't believe I would do that. It must have slipped out of my backpack when I pulled my bag out of the car. Oh well. I will hike the mountain again, but when it gets warmer. It was windy up there. We found a frozen puddle up there and I was surprised I was able to stand on it without being blown around. It was sweet.
Before we headed down, we ran into some Chinese people, or at least I think they were Chinese. They were eating some food that smelled mighty good. I asked them what they were eating that smelled so good, and they said it was pork fried rice. Yup, I was out of there as fast as I got there. I think that Yorick and I made it down the mountain in record time. So except for running into those Chinese people, we had a great time. With our first mountain out of the way, I wonder where we will go next!
