First Snow of the Season

Logbook Entry : 00025
December 6th, 2009

I woke up on Sunday morning to find that it had snow last night. About 3 inches of snow was covering everything, from the trees to the roads. It was quite nice to wake up to. I wasn't even aware that it was gonna snow! So with my boots on and Yorick's, ummmm, with my boots on, we headed outside and went for a walk up and down the street. We saw squirrels and chipmunks running along the snow covered ground and jumping from the covered tree branches too! It was an experience that we really enjoyed.

Just as we got back to our driveway, across the street, was Chuck and Kent Fuld. They were walking up and down the street as we were but they were looking for something they dropped the other day. They had gone for a walk up and down the street the day prior, when there was no snow, and dropped their cell phone. They asked me if I had seen it and I told them I hadn't, but if I come across it, I would let them know. I really don't ever talk to these guys. They have a rather large family which they usually spend most of their time with. They happen to ask me if I would like to come over sometime and I told them that I had plenty to do, but Maybe sometime in the near future, I would take them up on the offer. They headed on their way. I hope they find the cell phone they dropped. With the snow on the ground, I could only imagine it was now in a snow bank somewhere.

So we went in the house and heated up some water and made some hot chocolate. As I sipped on my hot chocolate, I sat next to the window and stared at the world outside. Winter is here. And I can't wait to go sledding when there is more snow on the ground.
