More Rain Won't Stop Us

Well, over the last few days, it has rained some more. Something about being stuck in the house everyday, just doesn't sit with us very well. I turned on the weather channel and looked at the forecast and it was good news. Rain, rain, and more rain in the forecast. But, there looked to be a break in the action outside coming our way. This could be it. This could be our only chance to get outside and do something.

We went outside and hopped into the car. Yorick has to sit in the back because he isn't big enough. Safety first. I buckled him in and we started driving. Now where do we go. I didn't just wanna just drive around. That would be a waste of gas, especially since gas is still pretty high right now. But then it came to me. I looked at the map and closed my eyes. waved my finger around in the air and then down onto the map. Opened my eyes and Newport. I don't know what is in Newport but that's where we were heading.

So we drove for about an hour and reached our destination. Now we had to find something to do and quick. The clouds above looked mean and ready to dump tons of raindrops on everyone doing the very same thing we were. Then, there it was. A small park by the river, which is crossed by a covered bridge. We parked and got out of the car. Oh man did the clouds looked even darker. We walked around a bit and the rain started to fall. This wasn't looking to good for us. The rain grew a bit harder, and then the heavens opened up. Yorick and I ran for the covered bridge. We looked at each other and couldn't figure out what to do next, so we waited. About 20 minutes later, someone came by and told us there was a flood warning issued for the river we were over right now and it was suggested that we leave before things get to bad. We didn't like to hear the news, but we decided we should leave. Now what? Well, we headed home. We didn't feel like that day was a total wash out. We did get out of the house like we wanted to. Oh well. Back to being at home staring out the window, hoping for another dry day.
