A Scary Night!

Yesterday, both Yorick and I were able to get outside for hike. We had heard about this very beautiful location called Glen Falls in Fairlee, Vermont. This place was amazing to say the least. Now of course, these falls probably don't compare to the ones out west of around the world, but to find some falls in the Northeast, where you can find tons more things of interest, just adds to the bonus of living here. So we were hanging out on the trail that ran upside the falls and tripped over a letterbox. Actually it was a Valley Quest box. This is a type of letterbox which is mostly around the Connecticut River Valley, but has been known to branch out a little in the mountains of Vermont and New Hampshire. So we found a VQ box. What a surprise this was to us. We opened it up and not many had visited the box so far this year. We did our thing with it and returned it to its location. Afterwards, we ate some lunch and began home.

And wouldn't you know, it started to rain on the way home. We have been unfortunate this summer with all the rain we have gotten, and the night was to be very familiar as well. Thunderstorms all night. I found it hard to sleep and Yorick wasn't to happy about the storms either. He hid under the sheets which helps block all the light coming through the windows, but doesn't block the rumbles of thunder very well. But sometime in the night, the storms started to fall apart and eventually we were able to fall asleep. What a night it was.
