Surviving the Ice Strom! Barely!

Lying in bed at night, with no power. Flashlight dead, I could do nothing but listen to the trees as they snap under the weight of a quarter inch of ice. Freezing as there is no heat, huddled under 4 blankets just hoping to stay warm through this long cold night. Kinda give you plenty to think about. My mother and of course Yorick. There is almost so much you can think about before the cold just sets in and puts you to sleep.

My watch said it was a little after 4:30 am. Something woke me up. Maybe a tree branch fell on the house. But whatever it was, it was still making noise and it seemed to have been coming from the living room. I thought I should get out of bed and see what the noise is from, but it was still so cold, if not colder than before. But I got out of bed to see what was up. As I was creeping closer to the living room, the noise got a bit louder. A bit closer, a bit louder still. But then, once I got to the living room, the noise stopped. Weird. I stood there for a minute or so before turning around to head off to bed. Started to walk back to bed and the noise started up again. Turned around and faced the window. I couldn't see anything. I still had no power. I took a step towards the window and the noise stopped. Geez, I wish I had a flashlight to see with. Then without warning, a loud BANG filled the house. I fell to the floor, banging my elbow. The bang echoed through the house as as a large tree branch slide down the roof, in front of the window and to the ground. Wow that was scary! But just when I thought it was over, my Christmas tree fell over! This was now a bit much, so I darted back into my bedroom and into bed, covering myself with my 4 blankets. Scared out of my mind now, shaking, I couldn't wait until I fell asleep.

But ............. as I continued to shake, I could feel something brushing up against my leg. I jumped out of bed, pulled the blankets off my bed and started to feel around on the bed to see if I could figure out what it was. All I was able to feel was a small pillow, but what I felt couldn't have been a small pillow. I think I am losing it! I think this is going to be an even longer night. And it was!

Oh no! Could it be? Is it Yorrick...or the ghost of him?

I hope that it is Yorick. I am starting to miss the little guy myself.
