You ever get that feeling that you haven't been out for awhile? Being that it has been a month since heading out and doing anything, I felt it was about time. With the passing of my mother, I had allowed it to take me into hiding and not once think about going outside. Kinda sad if you think about it. Day after day, Yorick would scratch at the door giving me hints that we should really get outside. I was a bit oblivious to these hints until Yorick jumped into my lap and put his face into mine. He was right. So we headed out to the coast. It had been some time since we last went, so why not.
Pierce Island in Portsmouth is such a wonderful spot to go. It is fairly quiet there, except when the Naval Shipyard across the river is doing work on something. But all in all, it is still a very nice place to check out. There used to be a bunch of letterboxes here, but there has been a rash of bad luck on the island. The 1 box I believe is still left, and has had its share of problems, is Portsmouth Alarm. This box has been damaged twice and replaced once. All the others have gone missing.
So anyway, Yorick and I went looking for Portsmouth Alarm, and then sat down for some lunch at the lookout. The sun was nice but it was a little cold. Fall was certainly here and winter was surely to follow. Just smell that ocean air. It was so nice to get out. I should do this more often. Thanks Yorick. Your a good friend.
